01—JHS Pedals
Morning Glory V4
The cleanest 'always-on' transparent overdrive on a modern pedalboard — the modern Bluesbreaker.
Still the canonical transparent overdrive in this tier. If you want a King of Tone but can't wait two years, this is the answer.
02—On the bench
JHS's reinterpretation of the Marshall Bluesbreaker circuit. Transparent low-to-medium gain overdrive that preserves the underlying voice of the amp and guitar instead of imposing a midrange hump. The Morning Glory sits in the same lineage as the Analogman King of Tone and the original Bluesbreaker, but with a cleaner, more open top end and a tighter low end. V4 added an internal toggle for a brighter or thicker voicing and a high-cut knob accessible via mini switch. Touch-responsive — opens up under hard picking and cleans up cleanly when you roll the volume knob back. Lives on a lot of country, Americana, and indie pedalboards as a perpetually on, almost-clean stack pusher.
- 01transparent — keeps the amp's voice intact
