I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

Single-coil clean tone with a moderate delay set to dotted-eighth, but used more sparsely than 'Streets'. The picking is a slow, deliberate arpeggio of open chord voicings — every note articulates separately before the delay catches it. Tone is bright and pillowy at the same time, with amp room ambience adding depth. Capo at the 7th fret puts the riff in a higher register, contributing to the chime.

The secret sauce

The capo is doing as much as the delay — at the 7th fret, the same chord shape rings higher and brighter, with shorter string lengths producing more harmonic content. Try this song without a capo and the whole tone collapses.
